I am back to meal planning!

Sunday- Tri-tip with corn salsa and pilaf (why did I pick today to BBQ?)

Monday- Spaghetti with meat balls and homemade bread

Tuesday- Grab what is in the frig...Hubby tutoring and I am off to teach a spin class.

Wednesday- Marinated New York Steaks with garlic mashed potatoes and salad.

Thursday- Chicken Marsala (Making 3 batches, 1 for us, 1 for Leah and 1 for another girl from church that had a baby. I will throw in a batch of brownies each, add a salad and bread and call it a day).

Friday- Out to dinner

Saturday- My dad's b-day party at our house. Chicken mole, small shrimp tacos, boiled beans, spanish rice and for dessert, apricot cobbler with vanilla ice cream!

In the bakery department this week:

Chocolate banana bread

Brownies (2 batches, maybe 3)

Apricot cobbler

It's going to get hot.....

and I am not ready for it. I am enjoying this weather even though my allergies have been driving me crazy!

Today I was sitting outside watching my kids play in the water, squirting each other with the water coming out of the faucet. Little man made his own mud puddle and was jumping in it and taught little missie that she too could stomp in the mud puddle. Oh the life of a kid! I am so happy to have two little ones to make me laugh, get wet and dirty with. I am enjoying this age, the two of them starting to play with each other, making each other laugh and cry at times. I am thankful everyday for my little gifts from God!

I'm Cooking Again!

So far, eggs and bacon, pancakes, homemade mac and cheese, country fried steak with mashed potatoes and yes, brownies. This kitchen is sooooo much easier to cook in. Can't wait to have a party! Once they are finished with everything it is party time, probably in June!! We still need to buy our table for the breakfast room and decorate. I am so happy it will be finished before it gets too hot!

The appliances are in....

They still have some things to work on, but we are soooooo close to being done!

The sink and faucet is my favortie feature of the kitchen. And hubby got me flowers for Mothers Day. Thought they looked nice in the kitchen.

The frig is a beast. They had to take off the doors to get the frig in the house.

Little missie has already turned on the oven a couple of times. That will be annoying, but atleast there is a gas lock out button.

Overall I am very happy with the way things are turning out. I will have you all over soon!

God is good.....

So, last week I was told not to come back to work for 3 weeks because of them not being financially sound right now. I had prayed right before that happened and asked God if it was meant for me to change jobs than he needs to help me out. Well, I got the position with Read Fresno today. I will be working with kids and in the school's. I am going back to get my teaching credential, so I think this is a good place for me to be right now.

We are loosing money since I am not working right now, but it always seems like God provides when you need it most. Hubby is working a little more with tutoring and Saturday school, the block sale we do at hubbies parent's house is next weekend and I was able to sell some items on ebay....got to love ebay!

The kitchen is almost finished. They are putting in the appliances, lighting etc... I can't wait! I do not know if I remember how to cook.....Anyways, I am looking forward to a new job and a new kitchen!

Kitchen Update

We are almost there!! Can't wait until this is all over.

This is the shower in the bathroom. He used the travertine backsplash on the roof of the shower.

This is the shower tile we picked out. I think I am going to move my bathroom to the downstairs bath. I need my bathroom done next.

This is the paint color I chose if you can see. It is a neutral greenish color.

What about today?

Today is Sam's 4th birthday! He was very excited. He got balloons from one set of grandparent's, we took him to John's Incredible Pizza and now he is staying the night at his other grandparent's house. I think he is loved. This is the funnest birthday yet. I just pray that it does not rain on Saturday!

That was the good news, the downer for the day was......I was at work and my boss asked if he could talk to me. I went back into the office and he asked me if I could do him a favor. Of course I said yes and he proceeded to tell me that it would be very helpful if I did not work for the next 3 weeks! What a favor! It is slow and we do not have another manicuring class coming in until then and it would help us out financially if I did not work until then. He then said, "I don't want you to look for another job, we really like you and want to keep you." Ya right buddy!

God works in mysterious ways......About an hour after he told me that, I got a phone call from one of my past students who works at Serene Day Spa. She said that they are desperately looking for someone who can do gels and rockstar nails. I was told to give the owner a call. An hour after that I was in their spa talking to them. I will be working on a on call basis when they have clients for me. I think that was pretty cool!

Yes, there is more. On Sunday I read on the New Cov newsletter that Read Fresno is hiring for a part-time position and that Sunday I told myself that is something I should look into, but it would be half of what I am making now. What to do? So what did I do today? I emailed Dot Powell today regarding the position and will be speaking with her on Monday. I need some prayer that God will put me where I need to be. I need to work part-time and I would really like to do something where I can help others. This position about Read Fresno has been on my mind all week. I just needed a sign or thump on my head to respond.....and I sure got one today.

I wish this did not happen on Sam's birthday since both hubby and I were a little distracted, but it did and I know there is a purpose for it!
